God's Free Gift Of Righteousness
If someone offered you a free tax exempt gift of, oh let's say, $1,000,000.00 and you knew it was for real, no doubt, you would be jumping for joy, especially, if you needed the money. Why? You undertand the value of the gift. It would elevate your life to a highler level. where you could better help yourself and help others. On the other hand, if this gift of $1,000,000,00 was offered to a billionaire it would not mean as much because of the value placed upon the gift.
Why is it that some people do not get excited over the free gift of righteousness and eternal life that God is offering to anyone that will receive it? It is because they do not understand the value of the gift. and it has not become a reality to them. How can it become real? Psalm 119:130 says, The entrance of your words gives light; it (the light) gives understanding to the simple.. Understanding is a gift of God that must be received in the heart and understood in the heart when the word of God is ministered into the heart by the Holy Spirit. .
The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 5:15-19 in the Passion Version, beautifully written, Now, there is no comparison between Adam’s transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime. It’s true that many died because of one man’s transgression, but how much greater will God’s grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflow to many because of what one Man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us! Rom 5:16 And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “Not guilty!” Rom 5:17 Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah! Rom 5:18 In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus’ sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all. Rom 5:19 One man’s disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners. So also one man’s obedience opened the door for many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to him.
This gift from God to you is free. All you must do is receive it. Once you accept the gift, the gift will teach you of the value of what you have been given as you study the scriptures.
But first, let's make sure you have the gift living on the inside of you with this simple confession of faith:
Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart with your eternal presence and the gift of righteousness you are offering me. I now take my free gift of righteousness, which is in You. Thank you for saving me and bringing me into the family of God.. I renounce my old life of sin and failure and now walk in complete victory in Christ. Your blood has saved me from the wrath to come upon the ungodly. I am now a citizen of Heaven. Now Lord, fill me with the overflowing presence of the Holy Spirit, and send me out to be a witness for you in this world., In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
